LOVE
Love is the binding of all our greatest achievements; the work and the essence of creation itself — this chapter explores many forms of love, illustrated by the vulnerability and tenderness of the speakers. We evoke love in us, as the energy that unifies all aspects of living; we lose it, return to it, embody it and pursue it. It is the salve for our wounds, the remedy for our relationships — and within the Lukhanyo Mdingi cosmology, love is the reverence within which we design our offerings for the world. Love is beyond us — it is not prescribed, but rather felt by all beings, and it is an energy we hope will remain everlasting as we co-create the world.
Banele Khoza relays their awareness of being attached to people through romantic love, “it’s interesting that the first thing we think of is romantic love, when there are so many other relations to love — love between community, strangers and spaces. It is interesting that love is from the heart and not the brain.’’
Rochelle Rharha Nembhard envisions her life underpinned by the essence of cosmic love that transcends all materiality; “I have been coming home to myself, collecting the bones, listening to my intuition, sharpening my sword — vibrating to the energy of pure love. The deep, primordial love. Embodying this love.”
Mario Ogle lets us know that he is married; “A series of God orchestrated events leading up to a sudden moment”, and Eden Myrrh talks of pursuing true intimacy with Mario without the transaction that is usually intended in her relationship with men, “it was so liberating.” They share their story from both aspects, telling a tale of love born from friendship that evolved into an unconditional, mutual love story.
